A NEW SEASON OF GIGS AT THE ARCHES
The Arches has a bumper season of exciting gigs ahead. In October, we have Fela Kuti's right hand man, jazz drummer Tony Allen (who has worked with everyone from Jarvis to Sebastian Tellier), No Wave cult band Swans and the delectable Jay Brannan. We also have Charles Bukowski lovin' rap legend DOOM. You will see no more a unique hip-hop performer this year. This is a not to be missed gig. Lastly, there's Mudhoney, who pre-date the press termed grunge movement (and are so much more than that classification) and are closer in style to garage/punk sound of the Stooges. In November, we have the delightful Irrepressibles, the crazy avant garde madness of Bobby Conn (brought to you by our Behaviour festival) and Kele (from Bloc Party) doing a solo show with Cocknbullkid. We are also proud to be part of the return of Atari Teenage Riot and we bring you two new bluesman that we're getting very excited about, Ian Siegal and Ben Prestage as well as one we know you'll love in the shape of Matt Schofield. Finally, in December John Cooper Clarke wings his way back with his hipster garb and zipgun delivery and Billy Bragg will deliver a highly passionate performance. We've also got many more shows (check our music page) and we've just announced gigs from Wavves and Maceo Parker too.
